Gianpiero and Maria’s dance is based on their belief that the meeting between two different personalities and life trajectories complement each other when sustained by shared values, making their tango a constant and rich dialogue since their first collaboration, 2 years ago.

As performers, their main wish is to create moments of deep and shared emotion with the public, providing inspiration and reaching each person in a very personal way. This focus on living the present moment fully leads them to put improvisation at the center of their proposal. By putting their personal emotions, fragilities and skills so fully at the service of the dancing, they believe strongly that the language of tango transcends personal feelings and reaches an artistical expression. Esthetically, their culture of the « here and now » in tango, leads them to go from traditional to more contemporary expression and moves.

As teachers, they combine deep study of technical understanding and analysis of core concepts with the use of very concrete tools, to increase sensations and efficiency of movement. Their holistic approach of tango focuses on developing presence and global body-awareness, putting technical precision at the service of creativity, expressivity and musicality.

Maria’s career path is grounded in her desire to build bridges between cultures and the many forms of expression that inspire her. As a child she constantly moved from one country to another, before settling in France at 18 and graduating from the Bordeaux National Conservatory with honors, earning a Gold medal in 1995, and a Medal of honor in 1996. In the same year she also passed her Master in “Communication and Performing Arts” at University of Bordeaux III.

In 1997, she discovered Argentine tango, soon to become her favorite means of expression, as she considered it an international language, transcending cultures and disciplines. Based in Paris, she studied regularly with C.Lambert & J. Elbaz for several years, while taking every opportunity to learn directly from professionals and masters working in Europe and Buenos Aires.

As a result of her life path and educational background, Maria never misses a chance to combine and confront tango with performing arts, film, and opera. She also keeps investigating different body techniques, enabling her to fine-tune her interpretation of the tango and teaching methods : contemporary dance, acting technique, yoga, gyrotonic…

Over the years, she also constantly went on enrichening her dancing and teaching skills through every one of her numerous collaborations with great and very different tango dancers, notably : John Zabala, Daniel Carlsson, Jorge Rodriguez, Aoniken Quiroga, Eric Lindgren, Oriel Toledo, Fausto Carpino…

Since 2000, as a tango performer she has been a guest of renowned international shows in theaters and festivals as well as artistic projects.

Gianpiero was only 12 when his father (engineer, martial art teacher and tango lover) involved him in a free project for youngster to approach tango.

He fell in love with tango during his first trip to Buenos Aires when he was only 15 and since then he's been studying with all the major Maestros.

He became a teacher the following year and starts performing in Italy and abroad at 18, realizing that he wanted to dedicate his life to tango.

His tango and his pedagogy are strictly connected to his studies of music, engeneering and bio-mechanic as "a simple and efficient technique, based on natural laws and aware listening, as the key to free the real and intimate spirit of tango".

Since then, Gianpiero has traveled around the world and performed with many great dancers such as Mila Vigdorova, Corina Herrera, Cesira Miceli, Nadia Hronidu and others.
